We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team and take on a team leadership role in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex systems. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in systems engineering and a strong ability to guide junior engineers, solve complex technical challenges, and work closely with stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring best practices are followed.
Advanced Troubleshooting: Handle complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide resolutions to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures. Establish and enforce technical standards to maintain consistency and quality.
Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices across systems and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business leaders, project managers, and other departments to understand technical requirements and provide solutions that meet organizational goals.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, recommending innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and ensure that systems can accommodate future growth, recommending and implementing scalable solutions as needed.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or a similar field, with a strong track record in system design and implementation.
Extensive knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Strong expertise in networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall configurations.
Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
Advanced troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and resolve critical issues quickly.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Proven experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with ConnectWise
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CompTIA Server+, or CCNA.
Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) and data backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
