Systems Engineer III
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team and take on a team leadership role in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex systems. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in systems engineering and a strong ability to guide junior engineers, solve complex technical challenges, and work closely with stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring best practices are followed.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Handle complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide resolutions to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures. Establish and enforce technical standards to maintain consistency and quality.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices across systems and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business leaders, project managers, and other departments to understand technical requirements and provide solutions that meet organizational goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, recommending innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and ensure that systems can accommodate future growth, recommending and implementing scalable solutions as needed.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or a similar field, with a strong track record in system design and implementation.
- Extensive knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong expertise in networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Advanced troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and resolve critical issues quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proven experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with ConnectWise
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CompTIA Server+, or CCNA.
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) and data backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
